Welcome to our latest edition of our DID YOU KNOW newsletter. This newsletter is filled with some important and useful agency and product updates for you and your family.

We Are Growing!

Many of you have already worked with Annemarie Wenner, but to reacquaint you – Annemarie is our Account Manager and has been with us for over a decade in varying capacities. Annemarie manages our day-to-day office operations and assists with our agency marketing and leads the servicing of accounts. In May 2018, she obtained her Ohio Life, Accident & Health License. Annemarie’s background includes numerous years as an elementary school music teacher as well as a solid background in the print and legal industries. Her experience and insight have been invaluable for our team. From billing, to claims, to enrollment issues, Annemarie is here to assist with servicing our clients. We are delighted to have her aboard! Annemarie’s email is awenner@kwalterconsulting.com.

We also have added another team member to assist with new client set-up and servicing. Please allow me to introduce Sara Patterson, our Sales Support Team Member. Sara has been with us for just over a year and we are thrilled to have her as part of the team. A native to Geauga County, Sara graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Minor in Psychology. Sara’s background includes internships with the Pennsylvania Public Health Administration, as well as social service positions with an achievement/respite camp for children with disabilities and several years in the hospitality industry. Sara has been a great addition to the team. Her background is a great fit as we strive to serve our clients’ needs each and every day. Sara’s email is spatterson@kwalterconsulting.com.

My hope is you have the opportunity to work with both of the outstanding women above throughout the year.

Prescription Savings!

We receive lots of questions about discount or coupon prescription websites throughout the year, so we wanted to pass along a couple great money-saving tips. These programs are not insurance, rather ‘point-of-sale’ discount savings sites, which are most often free to use. Many times these discount programs will offer better deals on certain prescriptions versus what your insurance carrier might offer. For those of our clients enrolled in Medicare Part D Drug plans or for clients under age 65 and enrolled in a high deductible health plan – ‘shopping’ around for your medications or an occasional high cost medication you might be prescribed is highly recommended!

Several of these sites include: goodrx.com or blinkhealth.com or ohiodrugcard.com Check them out!

Travel/Overseas Medical Coverage!

As many of our clients head away to warmer climates in an effort to escape our cold Ohio winter and also with the summer travel season just ahead of us, we want to take this opportunity to remind you to be prudent about making sure your current health policy has coverage for you if traveling out of the United States or overseas.

A couple important facts: Did you know Medicare does NOT cover you while out of the country? Also, many US-based policies have some foreign travel coverage. However, most often the coverage is for emergencies ONLY and often times the coverage will have a limited benefit, such as a $50,000 or $100,000 lifetime limit. Remember, all travel policies are NOT created equal, be sure to check the exclusions and limits, including possible limitations on pre-existing conditions.

So, whether it’s a ‘bucket list’ trip to Australia or college-aged students studying abroad in Europe over the summer – be sure you and your family are protected. Our office can assist with matching the right plan, for the right cost, for the right client.

As always, we appreciate your continued trust in our office and are here to assist throughout the year with any questions you might have.

Warm Regards,
Kelly, Annemarie and Sara
