Kelly Walter, President of KW Consulting, Inc., has over twenty years of health care insurance and benefit consulting experience. In 2021, our firm celebrates 15 years of delivering first-in-class service to our client base.
In her practice, she assists individuals and families with health insurance programs and Medicare plans suitable for one’s coverage needs and budget. Walter is certified in Ohio on the Healthcare Marketplace/Federal Exchange for individual insurance plans and obtains her yearly America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Medicare Advantage and Part D Plan Certification along with numerous independent appointments from top national and regional insurance carriers.
Prior to starting her own consulting firm, Kelly held positions in business development, marketing and sales at regional and national health insurance carriers and hospital-based systems across the Midwest. She has a widespread understanding of underwriting practices and risk management. Kelly also spent several years in marketing and communication positions for both the for-profit and non-profit sectors providing a wide range of marketing communications, promotional, project planning and management of benefit-based communications.
Kelly frequently speaks at various business organizations and employer groups, assisting retirees and early retirees with health care planning into their retirement years. She works closely with CPAs, financial wealth advisors and estate planners in assisting mutual clients with planning for long term health care needs.
Kelly holds her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Organizational Management and Communications from Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota. She is also an active member of the National Association of Heath Underwriters (NAHU). A native of central Minnesota, Walter is an honorary Ohioan and resides in Geauga County with her husband and two daughters.
